Position Overview

The Clinical Pharmacist plays a crucial role in ensuring the safe and effective use of medications within the healthcare system. This position involves overseeing drug distribution systems for both inpatient and outpatient settings, supervising pharmacy support personnel, and proactively identifying and resolving medication-related issues.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive drug regimen reviews and medication reconciliations.
  • Monitor pharmacokinetics and provide tailored medication education to patients.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary medical rounds and contribute to therapeutic decision-making.
  • Develop and deliver educational programs related to drug therapy.
  • Assist in the training and orientation of pharmacy students and other healthcare staff.

Qualifications

We invite applications from candidates who possess the following:

  • A Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy or a Doctor of Pharmacy degree from an accredited institution.
  • Current licensure to practice pharmacy in the relevant province.
  • Completion of a Pharmacy Residency Program is preferred.
  • A minimum of two years of clinical experience in a hospital pharmacy environment is advantageous.
  • Strong knowledge of pharmacotherapy and effective communication skills.
  • Ability to provide timely and accurate recommendations regarding medication use.
  • Competency in additional languages is considered an asset.

Work Schedule

This is a long-term assignment requiring a commitment of 75 hours bi-weekly.

The hourly wage for this position is competitive, and successful candidates may be eligible for a comprehensive benefits package, including health and dental coverage, travel insurance, long-term disability, life insurance, and a defined benefit pension plan.
