As a Receiving Inspector at Porter Airlines, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of incoming parts and materials. Reporting to the Manager, Stores and Inventory Control, you will be responsible for receiving and inspecting all rotables, tools, and consumables, as well as auditing after-hours receiving performed by Aircraft Material Handlers.
Duties and Responsibilities- Ensure accurate time-to-component recording for incoming parts and set/reset constraints as applicable in the maintenance tracking system.
- Create and track part requirements outlined in certification documents within the maintenance tracking system.
- Record control on all "shelf life" items to permit timely removal from inventory and prevent issuance for use on aircraft after expiration.
- Audit after-hours receiving performed by Aircraft Material Handlers to ensure compliance with procedures identified in the Maintenance Control Manual and correct discrepancies in a timely manner.
- Place suspect material, components, or parts in quarantine and maintain a quarantine area to prevent use of uncertified material, parts, or components on Company aircraft.
- Follow up on snagged, quarantined, and RMA receivings in a timely manner and take action according to priority.
- Coordinate with Purchasing, Repair and Overhaul, and Vendors regarding company certification of all incoming items.
- Liaise with the Technical Records team to solve discrepancies regarding on-wing and off-wing parts.
- Process incoming AOG parts with high priority and notify Maintenance of their arrival.
- Actively participate in Porter's Safety Management System (SMS), including reporting hazards and incidents encountered in daily operations, and understand, comply, and promote the Company Safety Policy.
- 2 years of experience in an aircraft stores/parts environment (preferred).
- 2 years of working with Maintenance Tracking Systems, AMOS & RAAS (asset).
- Strong awareness of Canadian Aviation Regulations.
- Intermediate skill level with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and Outlook).
- Dangerous Goods and WHMIS (asset).
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds repetitively and climb, bend, and kneel.
