The Development Coordinator is instrumental in supporting Development Managers throughout the lifecycle of speculative and design-build projects, from initial acquisition to the design and development phase, culminating in occupancy.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in scheduling projects from initial acquisition through design development, collaborating with the construction team to ensure a smooth transition to construction and occupancy.
  • Compile and submit necessary documentation for development applications, including Regional Plan Amendments, Zoning Amendments, Site Plan Approvals, and Conservation and Stormwater Management Permits.
  • Research and stay informed on emerging municipal and regional policies and plan modifications relevant to industrial development.
  • Monitor Council updates and the progress of pertinent projects/policies, providing regular updates to the Development Team.
  • Utilize municipal GIS tools to gather zoning and property information, reviewing for any property restrictions or encumbrances.
  • Review and summarize basic legal title documents and title reports.
  • Schedule and manage meetings, take minutes, update development budgets, and follow up as necessary.
  • Assist in the compilation and review of materials for outgoing proposals and RFPs.
  • Draft correspondence and edit outgoing communications.
  • Create subcontracts, change orders, and purchase orders.
  • Prepare, submit, and track Requests for Proposals to various external consultants.
  • Provide support for design and building specifications.
  • Assist in reviewing drawings and compiling feedback from other departments.
  • Manage and track consultant deliverables, including design plans, legal surveys, landscape and civil drawing packages, and due diligence documents.
  • Support any client's office and warehouse improvement processes, including preparing construction contracts.
Desired Skills and Experience
  • A University degree or college diploma in a related field, such as Architecture or Urban Planning.
  • A minimum of 1 year of relevant experience.
  • Preferred background includes real estate, urban planning, and/or development.
  • Familiarity with the municipal review and approval process.
  • Ability to interpret architectural, landscape, and civil drawings.
  • Proficient in computer applications, particularly Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Acrobat Pro.
  • Experience with Yardi, ProCore, and P6 Scheduling Software is advantageous but not mandatory.
  • Familiarity with architectural design software (e.g., AutoCAD) is a plus but not required.
  • Understanding of the real estate development process.
  • Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Strong work ethic and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

  • A self-starter who demonstrates initiative and can work both independently and as part of a team.
