Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist veterinarians with medical procedures, including surgical preparation, anesthesia monitoring, and patient recovery.
  • Conduct physical examinations, patient assessments, and take vital signs.
  • Administer medications, perform venipuncture, and collect blood samples.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed patient records.
  • Provide compassionate care to hospitalized patients and their owners.
  • Manage multiple priorities simultaneously and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients and colleagues.

Requirements:

  • Completion of a Veterinary Technician program and eligibility to register in Nova Scotia.
  • Knowledge of physical examinations, patient assessment, catheter placement, anesthesia monitoring, radiology, venipuncture, and pharmacy.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and communicate clearly with veterinarians, clients, and other staff members.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to ask clarifying questions to facilitate effective solution-finding.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and a passion for providing excellent patient care.
