Job Summary:
VCA Canada is seeking a skilled Veterinary Technician, RVT to join our team at Bedford Parks Animal Hospital. As a key member of our veterinary team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and support to our veterinarians and clients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist veterinarians with medical procedures, including surgical preparation, anesthesia monitoring, and patient recovery.
- Conduct physical examinations, patient assessments, and take vital signs.
- Administer medications, perform venipuncture, and collect laboratory samples.
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records.
- Provide compassionate care to hospitalized patients and their owners.
- Manage multiple priorities simultaneously and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients and colleagues.
Requirements:
- Completion of a Veterinary Technician program and eligibility to register in Nova Scotia.
- Knowledge of physical examinations, patient assessment, catheter placement, anesthesia monitoring, radiology, venipuncture, and pharmacy.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and communicate clearly with veterinarians, clients, and other staff members.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to ask clarifying questions to facilitate effective solution-finding.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills and a passion for providing excellent patient care.
