**Job Summary:**

As a key member of our kitchen staff, you will be responsible for assisting with various areas of line preparation, including scratch cooking, finishing, plating, and garnishing.

**Key Responsibilities:**

  • Assist with food preparation and presentation to ensure high-quality dishes are served to our guests.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace, adhering to health and safety standards.
  • Work effectively as part of a team to produce high-quality food and provide excellent customer service.
  • Prepare necessary food items as directed by the Chef de Partie/Sous Chef in accordance with standards.
  • Properly and safely operate kitchen equipment and report any required maintenance or repairs.
  • Keep overproduction and food waste to a minimum to reduce food cost expenses.
  • Adhere to recipes and menu specifications to maintain consistency and ensure all standards are met.
  • Fulfill daily production board and daily ordering requirements as needed.
  • Maintain organization and cleanliness of all food storerooms, including fridges and freezers.
  • Properly label, store, and rotate food items to prevent excess waste.
  • Participate in daily stand-ups and other duties as assigned.

**Requirements:**

  • Minimum 1 year's experience in a professional kitchen.
  • Passion for the culinary arts.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills (verbal and written).
  • A positive and respectful attitude.
  • Quick learner and ability to retain knowledge and skills.
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Valid FOODSAFE Certificate required.
  • WHMIS certification preferred.
  • Ability to stand up to eight hours, and move, lift, carry, and place objects weighing up to 40 pounds without assistance.
  • Available to work a flexible schedule, a minimum of three days per week (including evenings, weekends, and holidays) based on business volumes and operational demands.
