Job Summary

The Health Care Aide/Personal Support Worker is a vital member of our home care team, working under the supervision of the Care Coordinator to provide various personal care services to meet the client's needs.

Responsibilities
  • Assistance with personal care, hygiene, and physical therapy
  • Meal preparation and nutrition support
  • Light housekeeping and maintenance of a safe and clean environment
  • Accompanying clients on outings and social activities
  • Shopping and errands assistance
  • Medication administration and reminders
  • Ambulation and transportation of clients
  • Providing companionship and engaging in activities to promote mental and emotional well-being
  • Following care plans and activities of daily living
  • Documentation and charting of client progress
  • Flexibility to work various shift types and adapt to changing client needs
  • Performing other services as indicated in care plans
  • Adhering to all company policies and procedures
Qualifications
  • Personal Support Worker/Health Care Aide Certificate or equivalent (foreign-trained nurse, nursing student)
  • TLR Course is an asset
  • Current CPR/First Aid training or willingness to obtain
  • Negative TB skin test, chest x-ray, and Drug Screen Test
  • Valid Driver's License with the ability to travel around the territory
  • Access to internet and mobile phone
  • Ability to communicate fluently in English
