Job Title: Environmental Coordinator

At BGIS, we are seeking an experienced Environmental Coordinator to join our team. As an Environmental Coordinator, you will play a key role in coordinating environmental and health program processes and activities to ensure compliance and mitigate risks.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate environmental activities, including Legionella bacteria management, asbestos management, and environmental certifications (BOMA Best).
  • Act as the first point-of-contact for environmental and health inquiries and incidents.
  • Provide guidance to team members on environmental and health matters and escalate inquiries as necessary.
  • Coordinate the implementation of environmental, health, and safety programs and procedures.
  • Assist with health and safety activities, including OHS committee meetings, incident investigation, and emergency response procedures.
  • Maintain and assist with the creation of environmental, health, and safety documentation.
  • Support construction activity teams by creating and maintaining documentation.
  • Conduct regular inspections of facilities to mitigate environmental regulatory issues and health and safety concerns.
Requirements:
  • Strong background in environmental management system development and administration.
  • Certification in one or more of the following: Certificate in Occupational Health & Safety, Certificate in Environmental Management, or University degree in Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Engineering, Environmental Sciences, or Environmental Studies.
  • 1-3 years of environmental, health, and safety work experience.
  • Understanding of environmental, health, and safety regulatory requirements.
  • Strong organizational and coordination skills.
  • Strong communication and administrative skills.
