About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled AWS Cloud Engineer, Vice President to join our team at State Street. As a key member of our AWS Platform engineering team, you will be responsible for driving the design and implementation of best-in-class AWS infrastructure to support our security, governance, and workload requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and Build Robust Solutions: Develop and implement robust, scalable, and secure technical solutions on the AWS Cloud.
  • Collaborate with Architects: Work with platform architects to define component responsibilities, plan component evolution, and ensure components meet platform needs.
  • AWS Network Engineering: Be responsible for AWS network engineering and support.
  • Automation and Scripting: Develop scripts to automate the deployment of and management of cloud resources.
  • Native AWS Services: Utilize native AWS services to meet the firm's technology and resiliency requirements.
  • Identity and Access Management: Drive identity and access and configuration management, and monitoring strategy for AWS.
  • Operational Support: Support operational activity to ensure quality and timely delivery of service to cloud tenants.
  • Automation Scripts: Create automation scripts for all phases of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
  • Troubleshooting and Resolution: Troubleshoot and resolve issues reported by monitoring systems and submitted through the ticketing system of fully documented issues, actions taken, and steps for resolution.
  • On-Call Rotation: Serve in an on-call rotation one week out of the month, covering a 6:00 am to 6:00 pm shift in case of major incidents needing support.
Requirements
  • Enterprise Cloud Experience: Solid working experience on AWS IAAS for enterprise enablement.
  • Automation Focus: Automation focused and engineering mindset.
  • Network Engineering Skills: Network engineering skills.
  • Cloud Experience: Experience with design and development of solutions across on-prem and the cloud for large enterprises.
  • Cloud Native Design Patterns: Strong understanding of cloud native design patterns and DevOps principles (Infrastructure as Code).
  • Learning and Adaptability: Openness and ability to learn new skills and technologies in a fast-paced environment.
  • Communication Skills: Self-motivated and passionate individual with ability to effectively communicate ideas and escalate issues across teams in a timely manner.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree: Bachelor's degree in any Engineering discipline.
  • IT Experience: 5+ years of IT experience in a hands-on role with 3+ years of experience designing and supporting AWS environments.
  • Agile Delivery: Understanding of Agile delivery process is required.
  • Cloud Certifications: Appropriate certifications are strongly preferred, demonstrating an understanding of core infrastructure concepts as well as data and/or DevOps principles.
  • Cloud Computing Technologies: Deep understanding of cloud computing technologies with demonstrated hands-on experience in one or more of the following domains: Core IaaS, AWS PaaS Services, Data Platform and Bigdata.
  • Programming Skills: Strong programming and scripting background in languages such as shell scripts, python, Java, etc.
  • Cloud Formation Templates: Experience in designing, coding, and deploying Cloud formation templates.
  • Identity and Access Management: Experience with AWS Governance and Best Practices (AWS Policy, Role Based Access Control, Networking Architectures, CSA's CCM, Cost Management controls, etc.).
  • Communication Skills: Working proficiency and communication skills in verbal and written English.
