Job Title: Financial Analyst, Group Benefits

Selectpath Benefits and Financial Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Financial Analyst, Group Benefits to support the analytical and operational functions of our benefit administration systems and processes. This role is critical to ensuring the competitiveness and alignment of our benefit plan offerings with the organization's strategic objectives.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Benefit Service Delivery: Support the ongoing configuration and maintenance of benefit service delivery.
  • Benefit Plan Implementations: Assist in the implementation and deployment of new benefit plan offerings.
  • Benefit Data Analysis: Gather, analyze, and report on benefit-related data to ensure accuracy and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Benefit Plan Utilization: Leverage data-driven insights to assess benefit plan utilization, trends, and strategic impact.
  • Benefit Plan Enhancements: Evaluate existing benefit offerings and provide recommendations for enhancements.
  • Benefit Administration: Coordinate with internal departments and external providers to ensure seamless administration of benefit services.
  • Benefit Plan Competitiveness: Monitor and assess benefit plan competitiveness against Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and industry standards.
  • Benefit Plan Development: Contribute to the development and enhancement of benefit plan offerings and processes.
  • Annual Rate Renewal: Serve as a liaison between cross-functional teams during the annual rate renewal process.
  • Process Optimizations: Identify and recommend process optimizations for benefit administration systems.
  • Communication: Develop communication materials promoting benefit plan offerings to Association Members.
  • Month-End Tasks: Perform month-end tasks as required.
Requirements:
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience as a Benefit Analyst or in a related function within benefit administration team.
  • Certified Employee Benefits Specialist (CEBS) designation, or CFA designation (an asset).
  • Strong technical knowledge of benefit plans, including analysis, structures, offerings, legislation, and administration.
  • Detailed understanding of Trust regulations, Union Group benefits plans.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office 365.
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment with independent decision-making.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and prioritization skills.
  • High level of integrity, confidentiality, and accountability.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to manage time effectively and handle sensitive information with tact and diplomacy.
  • Creative and innovative thinker capable of delivering complex information in a clear and concise manner.
