Position Overview

Under the supervision of the Charge Technologist or Designate, the Senior Medical Radiology Technologist will perform the duties of a General Duty Technologist while also assisting in the overall management of the department. This role involves executing both routine and emergency Diagnostic Imaging procedures. The incumbent is responsible for maintaining a safe working environment in accordance with professional and provincial standards, ensuring adherence to quality assurance protocols, and upholding the standards established by Accreditation. All functions are conducted in alignment with the Mission and Values of Winnipeg Regional Health Authority, current policies, procedures, and applicable legislation.

Experience
  • Preferred minimum of three years of recent relevant experience.
  • Supervisory experience is considered an asset.
Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)
  • Graduate of an accredited Medical Radiography program with certification from the Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (CAMRT).
  • Completion of courses in Cross Sectional Anatomy and/or Computed Tomography as required.
Certification/Licensure/Registration
  • Must maintain active registration with the Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (CAMRT).
Qualifications and Skills
  • Proficient in a Windows computer environment.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications is required.
  • Training in Workplace Health and Safety Programs is preferred.
  • Ability to apply technical knowledge for result interpretation, troubleshooting, and method assessment.
  • Skill in organizing and prioritizing departmental responsibilities associated with the Senior Technologist role.
  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities.
  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions with precision and attention to detail.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills in English are essential.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team setting.
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills, with the ability to foster positive working relationships in a multidisciplinary team environment and with external agencies.
  • Proficient analytical skills.
  • Ability to perform under pressure.
  • Maintains confidentiality of all information entrusted to the position.
  • Fluency in both French and English may be required.
  • Ability to fulfill the duties as described.
