Position Overview
The Psychologist plays a crucial role within the interdisciplinary team at Nova Scotia Health Authority, focusing on mental health and addictions. This position involves providing comprehensive psychological services, including assessment, diagnosis, and therapeutic interventions. The successful candidate will engage in both individual and group therapy, contributing to the overall well-being of patients.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough psychological assessments and evaluations for patients.
- Provide psychotherapy and counseling services to individuals and groups.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement treatment plans.
- Participate in the training and supervision of psychology students and interns.
- Engage in risk assessments and provide expert testimony as required.
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Clinical Psychology from an accredited institution.
- Registration or eligibility for registration with the appropriate regulatory body.
- Preferred experience of at least two years in a clinical setting.
- Advanced skills in psychotherapy, particularly in evidence-based practices.
- Experience in conducting psychological assessments and consultations.
- Ability to work effectively with diverse and challenging client populations.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to present educational programs.
