About the Role
We are seeking a skilled Project Manager to join our Solar Canada office. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing overall contract administration, technical expertise, and support to our projects.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement project safety plans, ensuring a safe working environment for all team members.
- Ensure projects are constructed as per design, budget, resources, quality, and schedule.
- Understand client drivers and provide value engineering proposals for functionality, cost, and schedule benefits.
- Manage project performance, providing regular status reports on safety, cost forecast, and schedule.
- Negotiate and issue subcontracts, revisions, major purchase orders, and progress payments, monitoring their progress and schedule.
- Enforce contract and contract documents, ensuring compliance with industry standards.
- Participate in project commissioning and closeout, ensuring a smooth transition.
- Identify and manage risks and opportunities on construction projects.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or diploma in engineering, construction management, or a related field.
- 5-8 years of progressive construction experience with leadership and mentoring preferred.
- Ability to relocate across Canada and/or the United States.
- Demonstrated experience implementing a strong safety culture, applying health, safety, and environment principles and legislation.
- In-depth knowledge of construction industry, including building materials, construction specifications, methods, and procedures, construction law, and building codes, and safety and quality management practices.
- Strong planning, organizational, and time management skills, including managing project budgets and schedules.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with key stakeholders and decision makers.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, project management, and scheduling software, with a strong aptitude for adopting new technology.
