Job Summary
The University of Regina invites applications for a tenure-track faculty appointment in the Department of Justice Studies at the rank of Assistant Professor in the field/area of Socio-Legal Studies.
Key Responsibilities
- Teach core courses in the department as well as courses from the candidate's specialty.
- Contribute to the scholarly advancement of the department through a productive research agenda.
- Develop a record of effective student supervision and mentorship.
- Participate in department, faculty, and university level service consistent with their appointed rank.
Program Overview
The Department of Justice Studies is home to two distinct, but related programs – a Bachelor of Human Justice and a Bachelor of Arts in Police Studies. Our department has approximately 350 undergraduate majors – 230 Human Justice Majors and 120 Police Studies majors.
Qualifications
- Terminal degree in Law, Socio-Legal Studies or a similar cognate discipline, or in a complementary discipline along with a non-terminal Law degree.
- Work experience with legal services is considered an asset.
