IT Support Specialist

We are seeking a skilled IT Support Specialist to join our team at Osiris Inc. in Brampton. As a key member of our IT department, you will provide level 1 technical support, maintain hardware and software, assist with IT projects, and other common IT-related responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical support via phone, tickets, chat, and email requests.
  • Diagnose, research, and resolve hardware, software, and network issues.
  • Prioritize issues based on urgency and escalate or redirect as needed.
  • Maintain a log of helpdesk interactions.
  • Monitor systems and networks using real-time monitoring tools.
  • Monitor and maintain IT-related hardware and supplies.
  • Setup, configure, and repair IT hardware such as PCs, printers, scanners, input devices, etc.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 6 months to 1 year of experience in a level 1 technical support role.
  • College diploma, university degree, or relevant certifications in IT fields.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in English, both verbally and written.
  • Experience supporting desktop users in Windows 10.
  • Strong work ethic, reliability, and good attendance.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team as well as independently.
  • Strong problem-solving skills. Ability to approach problems pragmatically.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize workloads based on urgency.
  • Knowledge of common IT-related hardware at a minimum, such as PC port types, connection types, modems, routers, switches, etc.
  • You will be required to have a suitable location in your home with internet access to be able to work from home as required.
  • Reliable source of transportation.

Ideal Skills:

  • Experience supporting point of sale systems and software in a retail environment is an asset.
  • Experience supporting Google Workspace, Gmail, and Microsoft Outlook is an asset.
  • Experience using Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets, Google Docs is an asset.
  • Experience with VoIP phones is an asset.
  • Experience in a customer service role is an asset.
