About the Role

Spinrite is seeking a highly skilled Sales Category Analyst to join our Sales team. As an industry leader in the craft yarn and sewing thread market, we are looking for an individual who can work with data to predict customer purchasing patterns, identify sales trends, and make business recommendations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain effective forecast models at the SKU level, incorporating shipment history, POS trends, retailer inventory position, and policy changes.
  • Communicate forecast and inventory estimations to management, ensuring timely and accurate decision-making.
  • Analyze customer and marketplace POS data to identify insights that drive customer category and share growth, as well as ROS and pricing recommendations.
  • Monitor and report on inventory levels at the retailer, making recommendations to fill potential gaps on the shelf.
  • Support the Key Account Manager with data insights for business line reviews and promotional opportunities.
  • Monitor and report on important changes in sales forecasts, budgets, and business strategies, communicating significant changes to supply planning teams.
  • Perform daily, weekly, and monthly analysis of Point of Sale (POS), shipments, and retailer inventory levels, highlighting findings and making recommendations.
  • Analyze and report on shipment problems, working with the team to resolve issues.
  • Identify emerging trends based on analysis of sales and reconciliation results.
  • Participate in weekly meetings with the Forecast Manager and Account Managers to share and discuss information related to assigned accounts.
Requirements
  • Strong computer skills in Microsoft Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access, as well as visualization tools such as Power BI.
  • Problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to multitask and prioritize.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with data, with a curious mindset and passion for data analysis.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong attention to detail.
  • Organization and time management skills, with the ability to meet deadlines.
  • Previous experience with Sales Analytics and/or Demand Planning is an asset.
  • Previous experience with Walmart Retail Link/Luminate or a similar system is an asset.
  • University degree or College diploma in business or a related field is required.
