Job Title: Business Marketing Associate

ChampionX is seeking a talented Business Marketing Associate to join our Chemical Technologies Regional Marketing team located in Calgary, AB. As a key member of our team, your primary focus will be on understanding our customers and developing market insights to drive profitable growth for our business.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct in-depth market assessments to identify customer needs, market trends, and the competitive landscape.
  • Partner closely with District Manager to gain market and customer insights, develop strategies to address competitive threats, and align on sales targets.
  • Conduct margin health checks to optimize pricing and improve profitability, ensuring profitable business growth.
  • Support the execution of the regional strategy to deliver on key milestones and sales targets.
  • Employ a range of qualitative (customer meetings, sales feedback, etc.) and quantitative (analytics, market research, surveys, etc.) methods to understand, articulate and prioritize the needs and opportunities of the District and strategic customers.
  • Partner with regional commercial finance teams to deploy the appropriate value-based pricing strategies in the region, taking into account contractual obligations, the value delivered to the customer and the competitive offering.
  • Provide marketing communication support, developing communications, case histories and materials that resonate with our sales teams and target customers.
  • Support the setup and launch of new products and technology.
Requirements:
  • 3+ years' experience in oilfield.
  • 2+ years' experience with Project management skills.
  • Business and financial acumen.
  • Ability to simultaneously manage multiple complex projects.
  • Proficiency with Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
  • SAP experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree with 5+ years' experience with Upstream production chemicals (Technical, RD&E or sales role).
  • Demonstrated initiative and leadership skills, planning, critical thinking, collaborating cross-functionally, overseeing multiple project elements and proven track record of results.
  • Effective use of counselor selling approach (CSP) to obtain and leverage customer (internal and external) feedback to identify needs and evaluate technology fit.
  • Ability to navigate complex matrix organization to include and influence key stakeholders in various functions and regions; strong interpersonal and relationship building skills.
  • Business-to-business marketing experience, particularly with highly technical products and service in an industrial setting.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills both within and outside the business, organizational skills, good attention to detail and use of sound judgment in a fast-paced environment are essential.
