Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Early Childhood Educator to join our team at Alton Kids Child Care Center. As a key member of our staff, you will play a vital role in providing a nurturing and stimulating environment for young children to grow and develop.

Key Responsibilities
  • Child Care and Education
    • Develop and implement engaging child-care programs that promote the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children.
    • Provide individualized attention and care to infants and toddlers, including bathing, diapering, and feeding.
    • Lead activities that encourage creativity, such as storytelling, teaching songs, and preparing crafts.
  • Collaboration and Communication
    • Work collaboratively with early childhood educators and supervisors to plan and implement programs.
    • Communicate effectively with parents, guardians, and other staff members to ensure seamless care and support for children.
  • Record Keeping and Reporting
    • Maintain accurate and detailed records of children's progress and development.
    • Prepare and submit written observations and reports to early childhood educators or supervisors.
  • Environment and Safety
    • Establish and maintain a safe and healthy environment that promotes the well-being of children.
    • Plan and implement activities that promote physical activity and outdoor play.
    Requirements
    • Education
      • College, CEGEP, or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1-2 years.
    • Experience
      • 7 months to less than 1 year of experience in a related field.
    • Certifications and Licenses
      • Early Childhood Education (ECE) Certificate.
    • Personal Qualities
      • Judgment and decision-making skills.
      • Values and ethics that align with our organization's mission and values.
      • Creativity and ability to think outside the box.
      Work Environment
      • Combination of sitting, standing, and walking.
      • Bending, crouching, and kneeling.
      • Manual dexterity.
      Language and Hours
      • English language proficiency.
      • 30-35 hours per week.
