As a key member of our service team, you will be responsible for ensuring the daily organization and dispatch of technicians, providing high-quality repair work, and advising the Service Manager on technician skills and training needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Organizational Leadership: Oversee the daily operations of the afternoon shift, ensuring efficient workflow and quality control.
  • Technician Supervision: Supervise and mentor service technicians to ensure they meet the highest standards of quality and customer satisfaction.
  • Work Environment: Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment that promotes productivity and employee well-being.
  • Customer Service: Foster strong relationships with customers, providing exceptional service and ensuring their needs are met.
  • Communication: Effectively communicate with customers, technicians, and other branch personnel to ensure seamless operations.
  • Cost Management: Manage costs and ensure profitability of the department, making recommendations to the Service Manager as needed.
  • Administrative Tasks: Open and close work orders, prepare work orders for warranty, and perform other administrative duties as required.

Requirements:

  • Organizational Skills: Possess strong organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Technical Skills: Have basic Microsoft Office skills and be familiar with heavy equipment repair and maintenance.
  • Availability: Be willing to work after-hours and be available on-call as needed.
  • Physical Demands: Be able to lift up to 50 pounds and perform other physical demands of the role.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Heavy Equipment Experience: Previous experience in a heavy equipment environment, preferably in a service department setting.
  • Certifications: Certified Journeyman in the Heavy Duty Equipment technician trade or equivalent designated trade.
  • Product Knowledge: Familiarity with John Deere and competitive products, as well as forklift operation.
