Heavy Equipment Shop Supervisor

Tomlinson is seeking a seasoned Shop Foreman to oversee the day-to-day operations of our Heavy Equipment Shop. This individual will be responsible for supervising staff, addressing customer concerns, collaborating with Parts and Administrative Clerks on ordering parts and work orders, and ensuring a safe and productive work environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead by example with a strong safety culture and background in leadership
  • Ensure adherence to safety procedures and standards at all times
  • Maintain a clean and organized repair shop and yard
  • Schedule tasks for technicians
  • Train and mentor staff
  • Oversee daily operations
  • Optimize floor space for maximum productivity
  • Ensure high-quality repairs
  • Liaise with Manager of Garages and other operations personnel on repair status and scope
  • Create and review work orders

Working Conditions:

  • Ability to work indoors and outdoors
  • Monday to Friday, with potential for extra hours as needed
  • Garage hours of operation: 6:00am - 5:00pm

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of supervisory experience
  • Knowledge of the Health & Safety Act in the Industrial Field
  • Valid Driver's License
  • Strong attendance and punctuality
  • Mechanical aptitude
  • Ability to operate equipment (asset)
  • Strong customer service experience
  • Planning and organizational skills
