Network Operations Analyst

On behalf of our client in the Consulting Sector, CB Canada is seeking an Intermediate Network Operations Analyst.

Network Operations Analyst – Job Overview

The Intermediate Network Operations Analyst position is responsible for the ongoing management and support of network infrastructure, application delivery controllers, and VoIP enterprise systems, primarily utilizing technologies from Cisco, F5, Checkpoint, and Palo Alto. This role encompasses supporting network project initiatives, including architecture, design, planning, development, installation, configuration, maintenance, and optimization of all network-related components involved in project work. The analyst will diagnose and resolve end-user or application performance and connectivity challenges promptly and accurately, providing user training as necessary. Collaboration with vendors, end users, customer service representatives, and other technical personnel is essential for resolving hardware and software issues. Strong communication and presentation skills are crucial for success in this role.

Key Responsibilities

- Monitor, maintain, support, and repair clients' data and internet networks, including firewalls, load balancers, VPNs, WANs, DNS, switches, and routers.
- Plan and execute changes on firewalls, load balancers, switches, and routers.
- Address customer network outages and recommend remedial actions to prevent future occurrences.
- Assist in defining and implementing network enhancements, moves, additions, and changes tailored to individual customer needs.

- Conduct and document network backups and routine maintenance of managed network devices.
- Maintain accurate records of network issues reported and solutions provided for future reference.
- Develop and implement innovative strategies that yield ongoing benefits in enhancing system/network manageability and reliability.
- Review daily logs for managed devices.
- Escalate tickets to vendors for replacement of defective services or hardware.
Note: This position may require overtime and off-hours work as dictated by system availability and performance service levels. Weekend and shift work may be necessary to ensure continuous coverage.

Network Operations Analyst – Required Qualifications
- A minimum of 5 years of professional experience as a network analyst, network engineer, or in a similar role.
- At least 5 years of hands-on experience with Cisco and Palo Alto/Checkpoint products.
- A post-secondary college education (certificate/diploma) in Networking, Telecommunications, IT, or a related field.
- Proficient knowledge of Cisco routers, switches, remote access services, wireless networks, routing protocols, and network troubleshooting.

Network Operations Analyst – Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with F5 and Cisco ACI is considered an asset.
