Assistant Professor in School and Counselling Psychology
The Department of Educational Psychology and Special Education is seeking candidates for a tenure-track faculty role in School & Counselling Psychology at the Assistant Professor level. This position is designed for individuals who are committed to excellence in teaching, research, and community engagement.
The EPSE Department emphasizes a collaborative environment that fosters discovery, integration, application, and teaching. Our approach combines the roles of teacher-scholar and scientist-practitioner, preparing professionals and scholars to enhance the educational and psychosocial well-being of diverse populations across various settings.
Required Qualifications:
Applicants must possess a Doctorate Degree in Educational/School Psychology, with demonstrated expertise in psycho-educational assessment and intervention. Additional areas of specialization may include counselling psychology, child and family counselling, school-based counselling, Indigenous counselling, and cross-cultural counselling. Candidates should be registered psychologists or eligible for registration with the relevant professional body. Experience in K-12 educational settings is advantageous.
This role involves teaching graduate-level courses in the Master of Education program in School and Counselling Psychology, as well as overseeing practical components through the Counselling, Assessment, Intervention and Research Services (CAIRS) center.
Key Responsibilities:
Faculty members are expected to maintain an active research agenda, which includes disseminating findings and securing funding. Responsibilities also encompass teaching graduate and undergraduate courses, supervising graduate students, and participating in departmental administration and committees. Some faculty may also supervise practicum experiences for students.
