Job Title: Registered Practical Nurse

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Practical Nurse to join our team at Lakeridge Health.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care, working collaboratively with our multidisciplinary team, and contributing to a positive and inclusive work environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide personal patient care, vital signs, and physical assessments
  • Administer medications, monitor IVs, and set up medical equipment as needed
  • Participate in the Float Pool, Multidisciplinary Team, and Nursing Team at the Oshawa site
  • Maintain competence and professionalism relevant to current practice
  • Ensure accurate and timely documentation of patient information
Requirements:
  • Registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario (in good standing)
  • Registered Practical Nurse Diploma from an accredited community college
  • Current B.C.L.S. certificate
  • Recent medical-surgical experience and evidence of recent related continuing education
  • Coronary Care I course (Cardiac Rhythm Interpretation) required or must enroll within 6 months of commencing in position
  • Demonstrated self-motivation regarding continuing education in areas of patient assessment, patient education, leadership, and related Clinical Specialties
  • Ability to lift, turn, transfer patients with the use of mechanical lifts
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and documentation skills
  • Commitment to customer service and Lakeridge Health's comprehensive safety programs and practices
