We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Practical Nurse to join our team at Lakeridge Health.
Job Summary:The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care, working collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team, and maintaining a safe and healthy work environment.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide personal patient care, vital signs, and physical assessments
- Administer medications, monitor IVs, and set up medical equipment as needed
- Participate in the Float Pool, Multidisciplinary Team, and Nursing Team at the Oshawa site
- Maintain competence and professionalism relevant to current practice
- Ensure accurate and timely documentation of patient records
- Registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario (in good standing)
- Registered Practical Nurse Diploma from an accredited community college
- Current B.C.L.S. certificate
- Recent medical-surgical experience and evidence of recent related continuing education
- Coronary Care I course (Cardiac Rhythm Interpretation) required or must enroll within 6 months of commencing in position
- Demonstrated self-motivation regarding continuing education in areas of patient assessment, patient education, leadership, and related Clinical Specialties
- Ability to lift, turn, and transfer patients with the use of mechanical lifts
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and documentation skills
- Commitment to customer service and Lakeridge Health's comprehensive safety programs and practices
The successful candidate will work in a fast-paced environment, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to provide high-quality patient care. The position requires excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work well under pressure.
