Position Overview
The Provincial Nursing Float Pool offers nurses in Manitoba flexible work opportunities across various regions, communities, and facilities. This allows nurses to support diverse areas and specialties while enhancing their nursing skills and scope of practice. Nurses can select their preferred health regions, facilities, and work locations.
Main Responsibilities
- Develop educational programs for both nursing staff and support staff.
- Deliver engaging teaching and learning activities.
- Establish best practices and standards for nursing care.
- Create patient education resources to promote understanding and well-being.
- Continuously pursue professional development opportunities to stay current in the field.
Experience & Qualifications
- Minimum of four years of recent nursing experience within a defined clinical practice area.
- Prior teaching and program development experience is highly valued.
Education Requirements
- A Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing is essential.
- A Master's degree in Nursing is preferred.
Licensure & Certifications
- Must be registered or eligible for registration with the College of Nurses of Manitoba.
- Active participation in professional associations is encouraged.
- Current CPR certification is required.
Skills & Attributes
- Certification in a related specialty area is an asset.
- Proficiency in word processing and presentation software.
- Demonstrated leadership abilities and the ability to work effectively within a team environment.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to work comfortably in a computerized office setting.
- Ability to lift items up to 10 kg.
- Travel to other healthcare facilities may be required.
