Role Overview:

We are seeking experienced and driven Mobile Android engineers with over 8 years of expertise. In this role, you will be tasked with developing new features and functionalities, managing and scaling shared services, staying informed about the latest Android advancements, and advocating for best practices and tools. You will collaborate closely with various teams, including Payroll, Benefits, HR, identity, security, system design, and infrastructure. If you are passionate about creating elegant and scalable solutions while building a robust mobile team, this position is for you.

Team Dynamics:

Our organization is at a pivotal moment in its growth. We are in the process of launching a native mobile application tailored for small business owners, while also scaling a platform that addresses the challenges faced by these businesses.

Daily Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, test, and enhance the native Android application and associated mobile web views.
  • Create, iterate, and refine product features that enable employers to perform essential business operations, such as payroll processing and expense management.
  • Collaborate with product management, design, and other teams to identify technical and customer challenges, propose solutions, and subsequently prototype, iterate, and launch.
  • Work across various product applications, identity, security, design systems, and infrastructure to deliver exceptional experiences to our users.
  • Develop and scale core services, including push notification systems and localization features.
  • Maintain and enhance Android and mobile infrastructure, focusing on build pipelines, testing automation, and release processes.
  • Create a product that resonates with our users and meets their needs effectively.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in Kotlin-Android software engineering and at least 8 years in mobile software engineering.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively across teams.
  • A self-motivated approach, with the capability to handle greenfield projects.
  • Familiarity with the MVVM architecture.
  • Proficient in Android testing frameworks and best practices.
  • Experience in developing platform and common components to improve scalability, consistency, and maintainability throughout the product development lifecycle.
  • Strong analytical skills and meticulous attention to detail.
  • A willingness to learn and mentor others.

Compensation for this role is competitive and varies based on experience and expertise.
