GFL Environmental Services is seeking a skilled electrician to join our team at our Mississauga location. The ideal candidate will possess a valid 309A license and a G license.
Key Responsibilities:
- Receive instruction, plan, and execute work tasks
- Supervise and assign duties to staff
- Maintain, test, troubleshoot, repair, and install industrial electrical equipment
- Maintain, troubleshoot, repair, calibrate, adjust, and install industrial instrumentation equipment
- Maintain, troubleshoot, and install power distribution, circuit panels, and transformers
- Install cable tray, tech cables, EMT, and rigid circuits
- Read and interpret manufacturer's manuals, circuit diagrams, blueprints, drawings, schematics, and Canadian electrical code specifications
- Respond to emergency equipment failures
- Ensure all work complies with safety standards and applicable codes
- Develop and follow maintenance procedures for electrical equipment
- Organize, coordinate, and work with outside contractors and inspectors
- Maintain good working relationships with all coworkers, contractors, and customers
- Housekeeping; work in an outdoor environment
Knowledge, Skills, and Competencies:
- Must be a certified Ontario licensed electrician (309A or 442)
- Completion of community college or equivalent specialized trade courses
- Proven supervisory experience preferred
- Excellent communication skills (oral and written)
- Must be willing to work shifts and be available for overtime and weekends as required
