Job Title: Optical Associate

We are seeking a highly skilled and customer-focused Optical Associate to join our team at our Penticton Skaha Lake clinic. As an Optical Associate, you will play a critical role in delivering world-class service to our patients and helping us achieve our mission of enhancing the lives of our patients.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Educate clients about the best eyewear choices for their lifestyle, ensuring they receive the best in value and quality
  • Inform patients about advances in corrective eyewear solutions as well as assist with the selection of frames to suit their aesthetic and performance needs
  • Interpret optical prescriptions as written by an optometrist
  • Perform frame and facial measurements to ensure correct fit and positioning of new eyewear and perform repairs and adjustments to returning patients'
  • Place Contact Lens orders and assist with fittings
  • Communicate with patients in person, by phone, and by email
  • Bill the patient, their medical service provider, and other third parties
  • Manage appointment bookings, prescription printouts, and billing and payments
  • Warmly greet patients as they enter our clinic
  • Uphold excellent customer service standards using your charisma and problem-solving skills
Requirements:
  • Previous experience in a customer-facing, preferably retail environment preferred
  • Previous optical experience is considered an asset
  • Passionate about customer service
  • A high level of comfort using technology and computers
  • A great communicator who can provide exceptional patient care
  • Able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
