About the Opportunity
The Harris Leadership Strategies is seeking a visionary leader to fill the role of Chief Executive Officer. As the head of our organization, you will be responsible for executing our strategic plan, overseeing day-to-day operations, and providing insight into the complex healthcare system.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement strategic plans to achieve optimal performance and drive organizational growth.
- Lead and manage a team of professionals responsible for service delivery, programming, fundraising, and effective operations.
- Provide strategic leadership and direction to staff and volunteers, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives.
- Identify new areas for collaboration and build integrated partnerships to support overall advancement.
- Oversee the fund development function, including stewardship of current donors and identification of new funding opportunities.
- Implement and advance initiatives to deliver on the Truth and Reconciliation Calls to Action.
- Promote a culture of partnership, collaboration, and mentorship, ensuring an engaging atmosphere and sense of belonging.
- Strengthen the organization's community profile and foster relationships with key stakeholders and establish strategic community partnerships.
- Work in partnership with national and provincial organizations for various synergistic initiatives.
Selection Criteria
- Post-secondary education in social services, business, or other relevant discipline; equivalent experience will be considered.
- Senior progressive leadership experience and ability to mobilize and develop teams.
- Experience working in a non-profit setting, including working with a Board of Directors.
- Successful track record of risk management, budget management, and oversight of financial operations.
- Experience with human resources planning and ability to foster higher performance and engagement with a small team.
- Demonstrated understanding of fund development, including donor engagement and government funding.
- Experience with the national and/or provincial healthcare system and awareness of personal and societal impacts of lung disease.
- Ability to act as the public-facing spokesperson for community events, meetings, speaking engagements, and media.
- Inspirational and visible leader with the ability to coach, mentor, and influence individuals internally and externally.
