About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Intermediate Interior Designer to join our team at CHIL Interior Design. As a key member of our interiors practice, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality design solutions for hospitality and multi-family residential projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement design concepts for hospitality and residential projects, ensuring alignment with the company's design excellence standards.
  • Collaborate with senior interior designers and senior leadership team to deliver project milestones, including presentations, design development, and contract documentation.
  • Coordinate with local suppliers, project consultants, and client representatives to ensure timely and effective project delivery.
  • Provide space planning and design solutions that meet functional requirements, design considerations, and building code requirements.
  • Assist in the development of 2D and 3D design concepts, including high-quality renderings and presentations.
  • Support internal teams on various projects to best serve our clients.
  • Research and recommend finishes, furnishings, and equipment that meet project requirements, including texture, light, color, and other factors.
  • Prepare documentation for the selection, specification, procurement, and installation of furnishings and equipment.
  • Produce design development and contract documents, including plans, elevations, sections, details, and schedules.
  • Understand and apply building codes, technical aspects, and design principles to ensure high-quality design solutions.
  • Mentor and train junior interior designers and technicians.
  • Meet deadlines and ensure accuracy of all work produced.
Requirements
  • A degree or diploma from a CIDA-accredited Interior Design program.
  • Minimum of 4-7 years of industry experience in hospitality and multi-family residential interior design.
  • NCIDQ certification is preferred, with preparatory studies or test costs eligible for firm support.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Windows, and 3D graphic programs such as Sketchup, Photoshop, InDesign, and Illustrator.
  • Previous experience with Revit is an asset.
  • A solid portfolio of diverse creative projects with emphasis in hospitality, residential, and F&B design.
  • Technical savvy, able to learn and master new programs and apps.
  • Self-directed, able to work independently and know when to reach out for guidance and support.
  • Able to work in a team and is a team player.
  • Ready to receive and welcome coaching from supervisors and colleagues, assimilate feedback, and learn quickly from it.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Passionate about design, positive outlook, collaborative, and patient individual.
