Job Description

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced Health and Physical Education Specialist to join our team at the University of Ottawa. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing Physical Education and Health programs in an Ontario classroom, as well as facilitating professional learning for teachers and administrators.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement Physical Education and Health programs in an Ontario classroom
  • Facilitate professional learning for teachers and administrators on Health and Physical Education teaching and learning at the elementary level
  • Collaborate with colleagues to design and implement inclusive and equitable learning environments
  • Access and evaluate resources to support teaching and learning in Health and Physical Education
  • Integrate technology to enhance teaching and learning in Health and Physical Education
  • Reflect on research to develop student commitment to healthy living

Requirements:

  • Master's degree in education
  • Specialist in Physical Education and Health at the Primary Junior Division
  • Experience facilitating professional development focused on implementing Ontario Curriculum
  • Leadership position in facilitating professional learning to teachers and administrators
  • Membership or leadership position in education professional organization
  • Capability of applying the Ethical Standards and the Standards of Practice of the Teaching Profession in Ontario
