Job Summary

The University of Ottawa is seeking a highly qualified Health and Physical Education Specialist to join our team. As a specialist in the primary and junior divisions, you will be responsible for developing and implementing physical education and health programs in an Ontario classroom.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement physical education and health programs that align with the Ontario curriculum and board policies
  • Provide ongoing professional development to teachers and administrators on implementing the Ontario curriculum
  • Facilitate professional learning communities to promote collaboration and resource sharing among educators
  • Develop and maintain inclusive and equitable learning environments that promote student engagement and well-being
  • Stay up-to-date with current research and best practices in physical education and health education

Requirements

  • Master's degree in education or a related field
  • Specialist in Physical Education and Health at the Primary Junior Division; second specialist an asset
  • Experience facilitating professional development and leading professional learning communities
  • Strong knowledge of the Ontario curriculum and board policies
  • Ability to apply the Ethical Standards and the Standards of Practice of the Teaching Profession in Ontario
