The Environmental Services Coordinator plays a crucial role in delivering environmental solutions, offering expert advice, guidance, and recommendations to Client-Partners on projects that typically involve moderate complexity, scope, and risk across various environmental service domains. These services may be executed using internal resources or through external contracts. The individual in this position is responsible for drafting technical documents, reviewing project deliverables, assisting in procurement activities, supervising contractor and consultant efforts, and orchestrating project tasks to ensure that all requirements are fulfilled on schedule, within defined scope, and budget constraints.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
The following duties are representative but not exhaustive:
Primary Responsibilities

Oversee and coordinate environmental initiatives across a diverse range of projects to ensure compliance with legal and regulatory standards. Provide technical environmental support and lead the initiation and management of contracts. Generate environmental reports that align with Client-Partner specifications. Contribute to ensuring that service level agreement deliverables are achieved and that work is completed within the agreed timeframe and budget. Review and/or conduct peer reviews of environmental reports, statements of work, and cost assessments. Deliver comprehensive project management services to guarantee timely, scope-compliant, and budget-adherent deliverables. Cultivate and maintain effective relationships within Defence Construction Canada, as well as with industry stakeholders and Client-Partners. Ensure adherence to quality standards in line with corporate and Client-Partner expectations.

Additional Responsibilities

Develop and implement environmental procedures, policies, and directives. Conduct quality control assessments for service level agreements and deliverables. Support and/or spearhead business development initiatives. Manage project risks effectively. Perform other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED SKILLS
General and Specific Knowledge

Familiarity with best practices, methodologies, trends, and legislation in environmental sciences and engineering. Understanding of project and risk management principles. Knowledge of health and safety management practices.

Education and Experience

Minimum: A college diploma in biology, environmental sciences, environmental engineering, or a related field, complemented by four years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Preferred: A university degree in environmental science, environmental engineering, or a related field, along with specialized knowledge, training, and certification in one or more environmental service areas.

REQUIRED ABILITIES

Proficient in applicable software and operating systems. Capable of creating and managing databases. Able to apply project and risk management techniques effectively.

DEVELOPMENT AND LEADERSHIP

Provide functional advice and support to colleagues and Client-Partners.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT

Standard office setting with occasional travel requirements. Some tasks may occur on environmental or construction sites, where basic safety equipment may be necessary.
