Laboratory and Diagnostic Imaging Specialist

As a Laboratory and Diagnostic Imaging Specialist at Killam Health Centre, you will play a vital role in performing procedures in both laboratory and diagnostic imaging settings. Your responsibilities will include collecting and analyzing biological specimens, conducting X-ray examinations, ECGs, and reporting results. You will work as a member of the inter-professional team, ensuring effective communication and collaboration with patients, staff, and physicians.
Key Responsibilities:- Collect and analyze biological specimens
- Conduct X-ray examinations and ECGs
- Report results and maintain accurate records
- Work collaboratively with the inter-professional team
- Ensure effective communication with patients, staff, and physicians
- Completion of diploma from an accredited program in Combined Laboratory and X-Ray Technology (CLXT)
- Active or eligible for registration with the Alberta College of Combined Laboratory and X-ray Technologists (ACCLXT)
- Recent experience as a CLXT performing procedures in a core laboratory and general diagnostic imaging
- Ability to effectively communicate in English
- Good organizational skills and ability to assume responsibility
- Good interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and promote good teamwork, under pressure and in emergency situations
- Recent experience in the past two years in laboratory and diagnostic imaging settings
- Proficiency in laboratory equipment and software, including ACL Elite Pro, Sysmex XS 1000i, and Vitros XT3400
- Experience with ECG and Holter Monitor systems
- Knowledge of Connect Care and Agfa PACS systems
