Medical Laboratory Technologist

The Killam Health Centre is seeking a skilled Clinical Laboratory and X-Ray Technologist to join their team. This exciting opportunity will see the successful candidate working in both laboratory and diagnostic imaging settings, performing a range of procedures and working closely with healthcare professionals to provide high-quality patient care.
Key responsibilities of the role include collecting and analyzing biological specimens, conducting X-ray examinations and ECGs, and reporting results. The successful candidate will also be responsible for preparing patients, performing venipuncture and micropuncture, maintaining equipment and supplies, and adhering to quality control procedures.
Requirements: Completion of a diploma in Combined Laboratory and X-Ray Technology from an accredited program, active registration with the Alberta College of Combined Laboratory and X-ray Technologists, and ability to communicate effectively in English. Recent experience in a core laboratory and general diagnostic imaging setting is also preferred.
Preferred Qualifications: Recent experience working with laboratory equipment such as the ACL Elite Pro and Sysmex XS 1000i, as well as experience with ECG and Holter Monitor systems. Proficiency in computer skills and basic cardiac life support certification are also assets.
