Assistant Director of Care Job Description

At Optima Living, we are committed to providing exceptional care and services to our residents. We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Assistant Director of Care to join our team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement comprehensive care plans tailored to the resident's needs
  • Ensure the delivery of high-quality care services, meeting or exceeding provincial and legal requirements
  • Provide leadership and direction to staff, fostering a positive and supportive work environment
  • Collaborate with other departments and staff to ensure effective communication and coordination
  • Monitor and control the use of narcotics, ensuring regulatory compliance
  • Investigate and document serious incidents, taking corrective action as needed
  • Develop and implement Continuous Quality Improvement initiatives, based on audit outcomes and indicators
Requirements:
  • 2-4 years' management and/or supervisory experience in long-term care, assisted living, or senior services
  • Active BCCNM registration in British Columbia
  • Clear Police Information Check and Vulnerable Sector Check
  • Sound financial management skills and understanding of funding in a residential care setting
  • Ability to plan, direct, and control the delivery of multi-faceted care services
  • Extensive knowledge of the Community Care and Assisted Living Act, Residential Care Regulations, and Service Provider Manual
