About the Role

This is a challenging opportunity to join Metro's team as a Store Planner, responsible for reviewing and implementing the planning and development requirements of various design and construction projects within the company's capital plan.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the capital budget and project schedules for the capital plan of assigned programs.
  • Visit project locations to determine project objectives, opportunities for improvement, and growth, and analyze site conditions and limitations.
  • Work with Store Design to prepare proposals, options, and solutions to meet or address client requirements, company objectives, and new initiatives.
  • Review construction and equipment budgets and estimates to ensure they respect project scope of work and capital plan budgets.
  • Establish and update details and standards for banners (concepts, décor, exterior facades, and equipment) in collaboration with client requirements and various divisions within the Engineering department.
  • Obtain technical studies, budgets, and design solutions from divisions within the Engineering department to present a global analysis of each project to clients.
  • Provide support to realization colleagues during the construction of projects to ensure consistency between the planned project and execution, while respecting economic parameters.
  • Maintain project information files in MS Online and SAP.
  • Participate in strategic planning meetings.
  • Prepare and obtain approvals of financial requirements for projects.
  • Assure the follow-up of budgets and schedules for each project and the entire capital plan program.
  • Update information for assigned projects in SAP-PS and MS Online.
  • Ensure overall monitoring of budgets and schedules for all projects to accumulate statistics for future projects.
  • Follow the execution of assigned projects, manage changes involving planning and design, and keep departments informed of project evolution.
Requirements
  • Bachelor of Architecture, College degree in Environmental Design, Technological Design, or other related subjects.
  • 5-7 years of experience in project planning, project design, or project management, preferably in the retail sector.
  • Knowledge of Autocad, Windows PC environment (Outlook, Word, Excel), SAP, and MS Project.
  • Effective negotiating skills.
  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and achieve deadlines.
  • Knowledge of applicable laws and regulations.
  • Knowledge of a professional environment.
  • Valid license and a car available at all times.
  • Priority management and autonomy.
