Senior Mechanical Estimator

We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Estimator to join our Preconstruction team at Pomerleau Construction. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in supporting new and ongoing project growth, challenging industry standards with your trade-driven expertise and knowledge.
Key Responsibilities- Collaborate with our proposals team and client groups to secure bids and ensure project success.
- Complete full-cycle bid processes, including quantity take-offs, material and manpower evaluations, and contract specification reviews.
- Utilize your research skills to work with and update historical data, such as purchase orders and analysis reports, to help summarize reports for future estimates.
- Accurately interpret technical specifications for bid documents and grow strong relationships with trade partners, consultants, and clients to achieve project goals.
- Act as a role model and mentor for junior team members, providing coaching and guidance on best practices and trade secrets.
- 5+ years of relevant M&E estimating experience, along with a University Degree/Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent education and industry experience.
- Proven ability to interpret mechanical drawings and contract documents, and strong computer skills with estimation software.
- Solid written and verbal communication skills, coupled with a passion for building relationships.
- Previous experience leading and mentoring junior team members.
- Knowledge of the Ottawa/Gatineau market and the ability to work throughout the National Capital Region.
- MUST be able to obtain a Government of Canada Secret level clearance as per project contractual requirements.
- Bilingual in both official Canadian languages, English and French.
