Job Title: Senior Estimator

As a seasoned Mechanical Estimator, you will play a key role in the Preconstruction team at Pomerleau Construction, driving project growth and pushing industry standards with your trade expertise and knowledge. You will work closely with our proposals team and clients to secure bids and ensure project success.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Complete accurate quantity take-offs to ensure contract specifications and pricing.
  • Prepare summary of quantities according to plans and specs, sorting them by standardized sections and functions of the trades involved.
  • Utilize research skills to work with and update historical data like purchase orders and analysis reports to help summarize reports for future estimates.
  • Accurately interpret technical specifications for bid documents.
  • Grow and maintain strong relationships with trade partners, consultants, and clients to achieve project goals and vision.
  • Act as a role model and mentor for junior team members, providing coaching and guidance on best practices and trade secrets.
Requirements:
  • 5+ years of relevant M&E estimating experience, along with a University Degree/Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent education and industry experience.
  • Proven ability to interpret mechanical drawings and contract documents, and strong computer skills with estimation software.
  • Solid written and verbal communication skills, coupled with a passion for building relationships.
  • Previous experience leading and mentoring junior team members.
  • MUST be able to obtain a Government of Canada Secret level clearance as per project contractual requirements.

  • Bilingual in both official Canadian languages, English and French.
