Job Title: Early Childhood Educator

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Early Childhood Educator to join our team at Inuksuk Infant Development Centre. As an Early Childhood Educator, you will play a vital role in creating a nurturing and stimulating environment that promotes the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement child-care programs that support and promote the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children.
  • Supervise staff, trainees, or volunteers and provide guidance and support as needed.
  • Lead activities that promote learning and development, such as storytelling, singing, and outings to local points of interest.
  • Assist in maintaining accurate records and reports for parents, guardians, or supervisors.
  • Encourage children to express their creativity through various mediums, such as art, dramatic play, music, and physical activity.
  • Guide children in developing healthy habits, such as eating, dressing, and using the bathroom.
  • Monitor children for signs of potential learning or behavioral problems and prepare reports for parents, guardians, or supervisors.
  • Stay up-to-date with licensing regulations and ensure compliance.
  • Attend staff meetings to discuss progress and challenges.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with colleagues and community service providers.
  • Plan and maintain a safe and healthy environment for children.
  • Supervise and coordinate the activities of other Early Childhood Educators and assistants.
Requirements:
  • College, CEGEP, or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1-2 years.
  • First Aid Certificate.
  • Criminal record check.
  • Dependability, efficient interpersonal skills, excellent oral and written communication, flexibility, interpersonal awareness, judgement, reliability, team player, and values and ethics.
Experience:
  • 5 years or more of experience in a related field.
  • Permanent position.
  • 40 hours per week.
  • English language.
