Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Nuclear Applications Engineer to join our team at ATS Automation. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for creating innovative concepts for nuclear applications and developing detailed proposals for potential customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and manage proposal development teams to create winning proposals for nuclear applications.
  • Provide technical expertise to project execution teams and project managers to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Assist engineers and technical staff in design and development of products, systems, processes, and equipment.
  • Integrate third-party vendors and suppliers into projects as needed.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest technology and innovations in the industry.
  • Utilize computer-aided design, simulation, spreadsheets, and project management software to create detailed technical proposals.
  • Clearly define scope and deliverables and concisely communicate with project teams and customers.
  • Obtain and prepare detailed estimates of time, quantities, labor, and material costs required for work areas such as product design, testing, machine building, equipment installations, and manufacturing processes.
  • Travel to customer sites to assist in project or product development.
  • Work with sales teams to create and deliver presentations to potential clients.
  • May be assigned special projects in support of engineering and sales & marketing.
Requirements
  • A post-secondary diploma or degree in Mechatronics Engineering, Systems, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, or Design, or equivalent.
  • Three years' experience in mechanical or electrical engineering support, preferably in a nuclear automation environment.
  • Working knowledge of robotics, machine controls, and manufacturing processes.
  • Familiarity with computerized word processing, computerized spreadsheets, and AutoCAD.
  • Ability to present ideas, concepts, and pricing information in a clear and concise manner suitable for technical audiences.
  • Understanding of welding and machining processes.
