About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Veterinary Assistant to join our team at Lakeland Animal Care Group. As a key member of our animal care team, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional care and support to our furry patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Animal Care and Handling
    • Assist veterinarians with animal handling, restraint, and care during treatment and surgery
    • Provide nursing care and rehabilitation therapy for animals
    • Administer medications and vaccines under the direction of a veterinarian
  • Support to Veterinarians
    • Assist veterinarians before, during, and after surgery
    • Conduct and assist in laboratory research
  • Administrative and Laboratory Tasks
    • Prepare and maintain accurate records of animal care and treatment
    • Assist with laboratory tests and procedures
  • Work Environment and Physical Demands
    • Work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with a high level of attention to detail
    • Stand for extended periods, bend, crouch, and kneel as required
    • Combination of sitting, standing, and walking throughout the day
