At Baycrest, we are seeking a skilled Recreationist to join our team in providing Therapeutic Recreation Services. As a Recreationist, you will play a vital role in developing and executing therapeutic programs that promote leisure and well-being for our clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the Therapeutic Recreation and Culture & Arts teams to design and implement therapeutic programs
  • Ensure accurate documentation and record-keeping
  • Participate in interprofessional team meetings and contribute to team development
  • Supervise and orient volunteers, setting clear expectations and goals
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of program supplies and resources

Qualifications:

  • Completion of a two-year College Diploma in Recreation or Activation or equivalent
  • At least one year of experience in a Recreationist role or equivalent
  • Membership in good standing with Therapeutic Recreation Ontario (TRO) or Activity Professionals of Ontario (APO) is preferred
  • Experience in planning, implementing, and evaluating creative recreation programs is preferred
  • Experience in supervising volunteers and working with a geriatric population is preferred
