Job Summary:
We are seeking reliable and detail-oriented individuals to join our team as Casual Custodians in the Central Region. As a Casual Custodian, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and organization of our schools, ensuring a safe and healthy environment for our students and staff.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain the cleanliness and organization of classrooms, washrooms, offices, and other areas of the school
- Perform cleaning tasks, including sweeping, mopping, and disinfecting
- Operate cleaning equipment, such as vacuum cleaners and floor buffers
- Assist with the setup and teardown of events and activities
- Perform other related duties as assigned
Requirements:
- Ability to follow written and oral instructions
- Basic computer skills (e.g., data entry)
- Ability to lift heavy objects and move furniture
- Must have or be willing to obtain WHMIS Certification
- Must submit Fit to Work form (cost covered by District School Board Ontario North East)
- Must submit clear Vulnerable Sector check
Working Conditions:
Work will be performed in a school setting, with regular exposure to cleaning chemicals and equipment. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
