Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Speech-Language Pathologist to join our team at Home and Community Care Support Services. As a Speech-Language Pathologist, you will be responsible for providing speech-language pathology services to patients in their homes and communities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess patients' communication and swallowing abilities and develop treatment plans to address established therapy goals.
  • Provide speech-language pathology services to patients in their homes and communities, including assessment, treatment, and education.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care for patients.
  • Document patient progress and maintain accurate records.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and services.
Requirements
  • Registered Speech-Language Pathologist in good standing with the College of Audiologists and Speech-Language Pathologists of Ontario (CASLPO).
  • Experience working with diverse patient populations, including multicultural, homeless, palliative, acquired brain injury (ABI), mental health, geriatrics, and pediatrics.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, families, caregivers, and healthcare professionals.
  • Ability to prioritize professional duties and manage multiple patients and tasks efficiently.
  • Valid driver's license and access to a vehicle, as regular travel within the Cochrane district will be required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working in a community or home care setting.
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation and standards of practice.
  • Ability to speak French or another second language.
