The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Alberta is seeking a highly qualified candidate for a tenured Full Professor position in Robotics for Healthcare Applications. This is an exciting opportunity for a scholar to join a dynamic team of faculty members contributing to the newly approved Mechatronics and Robotics Co-Op undergraduate program.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct research in robotics for healthcare applications, including the development of advanced assistive robotic systems for surgery, therapy, or post-disability neuro-rehabilitation.
- Teach courses in robotics, computer engineering, and related fields at the undergraduate and graduate levels.
- Supervise graduate students and postdoctoral researchers in the department.
- Participate in departmental and university service, including committee work and outreach activities.
- PhD in Electrical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Computer Engineering.
- Established research record in robotics for healthcare applications, with a strong publication record in top-tier journals and conferences.
- Experience in teaching and mentoring students at the undergraduate and graduate levels.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
