We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced HR Business Partner to join our team at Penguin Random House Canada. Key Responsibilities
  • Enhance Employee Experience: Partner with business leaders to design and implement initiatives that drive employee engagement, retention, and development.
  • HR Consultation: Provide expert guidance and coaching to managers and employees on people-related matters, including talent acquisition, talent management, and employee relations.
  • Talent Acquisition: Oversee the recruitment process, from understanding resourcing needs to welcoming new hires and ensuring a smooth orientation.
  • Cultural Assessment: Engage with managers and employees to understand our cultural needs and recommend learning opportunities. Facilitate employee surveys and focus groups to gather feedback and identify areas for improvement.
  • Talent Management: Partner with managers to foster a strong performance culture, support resource planning, and drive employee growth, engagement, and retention.

  • Project and Program Leadership: Contribute to and sometimes lead the design and development of organizational initiatives critical to cultivating a high-performance and inclusive environment.
Requirements

  • HR Experience: At least 3 years of progressive HR experience, including a minimum of 1 year responsible for delivering a talent program. A post-secondary degree or certificate in Human Resources or a related field is required.

  • Interpersonal Savvy: Proven experience in building meaningful relationships across all levels of an organization.
  • Organizational Skills: Ability to prioritize work and manage multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Integrity and Compassion: Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and act with integrity.
  • Technical Proficiency: Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and experience with HRIS and talent management systems.
  • Critical Thinking: Strong analytical skills to identify, assess, and resolve issues, derive insights from data, and make sound recommendations.
  • Resilience: Ability to embrace challenges, persist through obstacles, and learn from feedback.
  • Listening Skills: Exceptional ability to listen and understand colleagues' experiences and needs.
