Nurse Practitioner

Vancouver Coastal Health is seeking a skilled Nurse Practitioner to join our Sunshine Coast Mental Health team. As a key member of our interdisciplinary team, you will provide primary care to individuals with complex mental health and substance use needs.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients and clients, including diagnosing diseases, disorders, and conditions.
- Develop and implement treatment plans, including health care management, therapeutic interventions, and prescribing medications in accordance with regulatory standards and employer policies.
- Collaborate with clients and other healthcare professionals to identify and address health trends and patterns.
- Develop and implement population-based strategies to improve health outcomes and participate in quality improvement activities.
- Provide leadership and guidance to other healthcare professionals and participate in peer review to evaluate the effectiveness of services.
- Current registration as a Nurse Practitioner with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM) plus 4 years of recent, relevant clinical nursing experience.
- Successful completion of the Objective Structured Clinical Examination (OSCE) required.
- Ability to apply knowledge of developmental stages, behavioral sciences, pathophysiology, psychopathology, epidemiology, and evidence-based practice to clinical diagnosis and patient management.
- Ability to communicate and collaborate with patients and families about health findings, diagnosis, treatment, self-care, and prognosis.
