Nurse Practitioner

Vancouver Coastal Health is seeking a skilled Nurse Practitioner to join our Sunshine Coast Mental Health team. As a key member of our integrated care team, you will provide primary care to individuals with complex Mental Health and Substance Use needs in the lower Sunshine Coast region.
Key Responsibilities- Provide comprehensive assessments, diagnoses, and treatment plans for patients with complex health needs.
- Collaborate with clients, families, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Prescribe medications and provide therapeutic interventions in accordance with regulatory standards and employer policies.
- Participate in quality improvement activities and contribute to the development of population-based strategies to improve health outcomes.
- Develop and maintain core and non-core privileges as an active medical staff member within the VCH Regional Department of Nurse Practitioners.
- Current registration as a Nurse Practitioner with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM) plus 4 years of recent, relevant clinical nursing experience.
- Successful completion of the Objective Structured Clinical Examination (OSCE) required.
- Ability to apply knowledge of developmental stages, behavioral sciences, pathophysiology, psychopathology, epidemiology, and evidence-based practice to clinical diagnosis and patient management.
- Ability to communicate and collaborate with patients and families about health findings, diagnosis, treatment, self-care, and prognosis.
