Position Overview

Are you passionate about providing exceptional nursing care? We are looking for a committed Registered Nurse who is eager to deliver empathetic patient support to become a part of our team at Northern Health Authority.

Reporting to the Surgical Services Team Lead, the staff nurse will be responsible for evaluating, planning, implementing, and assessing patient care and nursing practice activities within the framework of quality management and in alignment with Northern Health Authority standards.

The role is shaped by the needs of the organization, a specific patient/family demographic, agency expectations, and the standards of professional nursing practice.


Work Schedule: Rotating Days; 06:45 to 18:45

Compensation:
The current wage is: $59.52/hour

Northern Health Authority operates a 46-bed hospital and 115 residential care beds in the adjoining facility. The organization features two modern operating rooms, outpatient clinics including cancer care and hemodialysis, emergency services, ICU, and a birthing center with private maternity rooms for labor, delivery, and post-partum care.

Qualifications
  • Current registration with the BC College of Nurses and Midwives as a practicing RN registrant.
  • Minimum of one (1) year of experience in surgical nursing within the last five (5) years, or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
Skills and Competencies:
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to promote safe and competent patient care.
  • Capacity to establish and maintain effective working relationships with all members of the healthcare team.
  • Ability to communicate and maintain positive public relations with patients' families and friends.
  • Skill in recognizing and responding appropriately in emergency situations.
  • Physical capability to perform the duties of the position.
